Océ consolidates manufacturing
Flatbed engineering and production move to multiple European sites
High-tech printing company Océ transfers R&D and Manufacturing of the so-called “flatbed” wide-format printing systems to Europe. The goal is to increase the scale and effectiveness of Océ manufacturing.
The current flatbed R&D and manufacturing are currently located in Vancouver, Canada. The R&D will be moved to Venlo, The Netherlands to benefit from the Inkjet technology expertise in this site. Manufacturing will be moved to Munich, Germany to re-use assets that are available there.
Océ UV flatbed printers, marketed under the “Arizona” name, are widely used in the graphic arts industry. Océ is global market leader in the flatbed segment. “We are committed to the graphic arts industry and offer a strong and competitive portfolio. With this consolidation we intend to accelerate the innovation for this strategic area.” said Anton Schaaf, CEO of Océ.
The production facility in Vancouver with 200 employees was acquired by Océ in 2001.
The transfer of activities is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
