Resource depletion and pollution
- We aim to use circular materials in our products and facilities
- We aim to minimize the amount of virgin materials and we optimize reuse of products, components, parts and materials

We comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, as well as the Canon Group environmental assurance policies. We allocate the necessary resources for compliance and environmental management of our products and operations.
For our products, we strive to gain 3rd party recognition for the environmental performance by fulfilling the criteria from international environmental labels and standards.
To minimize the environmental impact of our company we have established the following in our operations:

- We improve energy efficiency at our premises, plants and equipment based on cost effectiveness.
- We use green electricity at our manufacturing sites, partly by self-generated solar power. Heating of our buildings is partly based on geothermal energy.
- We promote and support biodiversity at our sites and we compensate losses of natural habitats caused by our site developments.
- We increase the environmental awareness of our employees and encourage environmental protection initiatives on corporate and individual level.
Earth Hour participation
Annually in March, the Earth Hour event is held worldwide. Earth Hour was initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2007. Individuals, communities and businesses are encouraged to turn off the lights for one hour as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.
On Saturday 22 March 2025, for the 10th consecutive year, we supported this initiative by switching off non-essential lights at all our premises. Each year, we encourage our employees to participate in this action at home too.
